Outside is another room. The one without walls, where dinner goes on until 11 pm and children play until sunset. For years, Italians furnished it with whatever was on hand — plastic chairs, folding tables, sofas that didn't survive a single season. SolPatio was born to change that story: in this collection you'll find over 89 sets, tables, seating and accessories chosen to last 10 years, not two.
What you'll find in this collection
Extendable dining tables, lounge sets for conversation areas, sun loungers and deck chairs, dining chairs, benches, stools and complete sets for 4–8 people. Materials: powder-coated aluminium, UV-stable polyrattan, FSC teak, polywood, tempered glass.
Curated selection: we don't sell everything. Only products we'd use in our own homes, from brands we stand behind.
Outdoor dining tables
The right size for comfortable dining
A 4-person table needs a minimum of 80×80 cm. For 6 people: 160×90 cm. For 8 people (dinner with friends): 200×100 cm. Side-extension extendable tables let you go from 6 to 10 seats for special occasions without sacrificing everyday space.
Tabletop materials
Tempered glass: modern aesthetic, easy to clean, vulnerable to thermal shock (sudden heat+cold). Polywood: wood-look, zero maintenance, 15+ year lifespan. Teak: the classic choice, requires annual oiling, ages beautifully.
Lounge sets for conversation areas
What makes a set truly comfortable
Cushions with a minimum density of 35 kg/m³ and minimum height of 8 cm — below these figures they'll flatten on first use. Aluminium or powder-coated steel frame: natural rattan won't survive an Italian winter, polyrattan will.
Configurations that work
4-seat set (2 armchairs + sofa + coffee table) for terraces of 8–15 m². 5–7 seat corner sets for medium-sized gardens. Modular sectional sets if you want the flexibility to reconfigure.
Individual seating: loungers, sun beds, chairs
Deck chairs
Multi-position aluminium frame (5+ recline settings), Textilene fabric (PVC-coated polyester) that resists sun and moisture without absorbing stains. From €80 to €250 for models that last 7–10 years.
Sun loungers
For poolside and relaxation zones. Thick padded mattress 6–10 cm, wheels for easy repositioning, adjustable backrest. Polywood or teak loungers are the most expensive but also the most elegant poolside.
Dining chairs
Stackable for small spaces. Padded for intensive use. With armrests for long lunches, without for quick dinners. Never use loose cushions without tie-downs (they'll blow away at the first gust of wind).
How to choose the right structural material
Powder-coated aluminium
Lightweight, rust-free, zero maintenance. Structural lifespan 15–20 years. The top choice for those who want a "buy it and forget it" solution.
Polyrattan (HDPE)
Technical plastic woven over a metal frame. UV-stable, withstands -30°/+70°C. Perfectly mimics natural rattan. Lifespan 10–12 years.
Teak and tropical hardwood
The premium aesthetic choice, maximum durability (20+ years with annual oiling), substantial weight (more stable in wind). For those who embrace maintenance in exchange for visual warmth.
Powder-coated steel
Sturdy, affordable, but vulnerable to scratches (once the coating breaks, rust follows). Good for decorative wrought-iron pieces, not for intensive daily use.
Setting up your outdoor space in 4 steps
1. Measure your actual space (not the "free" area — all of it). Leave 60 cm of clearance around the furniture.
2. Count the seats you genuinely need: how many dinners a week? For how many people?
3. Decide your primary layout: dining, lounge, or both. If both, mentally divide the terrace into two zones.
4. Choose your structural pieces first (table + seating), then the accessories (cushions, lights, planters). Never the other way around.
Frequently asked questions
How long does quality garden furniture last?
With proper care: aluminium 15–20 years, teak 20+, polyrattan 10–12, steel 8–10. Without maintenance (left out in the rain all year, never oiled): cut all those figures in half.
Can I leave the furniture outside in winter?
Aluminium and polyrattan yes, with a breathable waterproof cover. Teak yes, but apply oil by the end of October. Cushions always brought indoors. Glass and ceramics always kept covered.
Which set works for a 10 m² terrace?
A 90×90 cm table + 4 chairs + 2 large planters at either end. Or 2–3 lounge armchairs + coffee table + sun lounger if you prefer a relaxation layout. Under 12 m², don't try to fit both.
What does "polywood" mean?
Recycled polyethylene moulded into the shape of wooden planks. Advantages: zero maintenance, 25+ year lifespan, perfect wood imitation. Disadvantages: heavy, initial cost 30–40% higher than teak.
Is a complete set or individual pieces a better choice?
Complete set: guaranteed visual coherence, often better value. Individual pieces: maximum personalisation, higher cumulative cost but spread over time.
